The Ristorante Zù came into existance after World War II as a place for refreshment for the numerous wanderers who have dared crossing the coastal road passing through idyllic fishing and craftsman villages on the Bergamascan side of the Lake of Iseo.
There were to be found plenty of wine and regional products that have been transformed into delicacies by the able hands of the local women. It was also them, who handed down the recipes of our tradition.
Over the years, the way of living and the needs of people have changed gradually and the concept of a Trattoria-Bar gained a foothold in the development of our Ristorante. Now, rooms could be offered to the guests wishing to stay overnight on their holiday at the Lake.
The Trattoria had its heyday in the 60ies and 70ies. It became famous for local delicacies, especially for freshwater fish, strictly prepared after the rules of the best tradition.
During the 80ies, Patrizia and Marcello decided to share their lives and to continue the adventure, which Patrizia’s family had begun three generations earlier.
In 1981, the task areas were divided: Marcello henceforth has been responsible for the restaurant, Patrizia for the kitchen. This division marks a significant point in the development from the Trattoria to the elegant and distinguished Ristorante as we know it today — still with the roots in the past and simultaneously one foot in the future.
